My name is Phillipa Jacobs-Smith, and my journey to becoming a menopause health coach has been deeply personal.
My work is rooted in science, but my approach is personal, compassionate, and tailored to your unique journey. Together, we can make your menopause experience one of strength, vitality and empowerment.
In my younger years, I was a competitive middle-distance athlete. Movement felt natural—I thrived on it and my body responded with ease. But as I got older, things began to shift. By my 40s, I was facing a new reality: changes in body composition, a noticeable drop in strength, and a disconnect between how I felt and how I had always seen myself. These experiences sparked a deep curiosity about menopause and midlife health.
At first, none of it made sense. Why was my body—something I thought I knew so well—starting to feel unfamiliar? Why did I feel forgetful, anxious, and just… off? And why was my usual exercise routine no longer delivering the same results?
Like so many women, I believed I was eating well—plenty of “healthy” options, watching portions, avoiding snacks—but I still felt drained, bloated, and out of sync. It wasn’t until late perimenopause that I realised the way I’d always eaten no longer worked with my body—it was working against it.
These questions led me to explore the science of menopause and midlife health more deeply. Through my training as a nutrition and health coach and my background in personal fitness training, I gained the tools and knowledge to make meaningful changes and reconnect with myself. I developed a clearer understanding of the hormonal and physiological shifts that occur during menopause, along with the types of food and movement that truly support wellbeing at this stage of life. That shift was a turning point—it helped me move through the challenges and reframe what once felt like a difficult transition into a powerful phase of growth and renewal.
What became abundantly clear along the way was that too many women face this stage without enough information, guidance or support. I believe everyone deserves to understand their own body so they can make informed, confident choices for their health. That’s why I created The Menopause Health Coach—to offer approachable, evidence-based coaching that helps you build strength, energy and confidence during this chapter of life.
